Application Requirements

Hi! Thank you for considering joining us as a moderator and/or contributor.

Moderator Applications

What Does Being a Moderator Entail?
A moderator, simply put, acts as the face of the zine for contributors. They are mentors, supervisors, peers, and advisors. Being a moderator requires you to have clear, concise communication, the ability to handle stressful situations, prior knowledge in the field you’re applying to moderate, and above all, time and energy. If this sounds daunting, fear not - we’ll be there to pitch in and help out every step of the way, because that’s what teamwork means.
Please be sure to read through the following guidelines carefully before submitting your application. Failure to follow these instructions may result in your application being disqualified.

Basic Requirements

1) You should have a Discord account. If you are accepted and don't have a Discord account, you will have to make one. This is because the primary and only form of communication between moderators and contributors will be the Discord server.2) You should be 18 years of age or older at the time of joining the moderator team.3) You must be able to coordinate and communicate with the mod team properly. Remember, zines are a team effort! All decisions must be taken together, not individually.4) This is a for-charity zine; all proceeds go to MSF. The mods will receive free copies of the SFW and NSFW zines, as well as digital merchandise made for the zine, but there will be no financial compensation.5) If you wish to contribute to the zine, please fill in the contributor applications when they open. All moderators will be judged based on sample strength and quality, and being accepted as a mod does not guarantee you a position as a contributor!6) Before submitting your samples and portfolio, please make sure all links are accessible. If any links are found to be inaccessible, the application will automatically be disqualified.
